* IECC ONE GAME MATCH EVENT ONLINE ON THE CHESS.COM SERVER
http://www.chess-iecc.com/1game.html

=================================================

The One-game Tournament Director - Hans Winsemius, TD

If you are interested in playing one game matches using the chess.com
server, then all you need to do is the following:

1. Create a chess.com user name

2. Use the IECC miscellaneous web form to address a message to the Admin department. In the remarks section, please put "chess.com" on the first line and your chess.com username on the second line. This information will then be added to our database.

3. Sign-up for a "1-Game" match using the usual form, and indicate in the comments your preference for online, email or either. The TD will then allocate your pairing accordingly. (Note:If no preference is indicated, it will be assumed the game requested is an email game.)

When you are playing an IECC game on the chess.com server, you will need to abide by the following rules:

* If you are the White player then it will be your responsibility to set up the game on the chess.com server to be played with 5 day reflection time.

* Once the game has been setup the details of the game should be forwarded to the IECC event tournament directors so that they can confirm that the game is actually in play. This will be done using the events miscellaneous form just as players currently do to validate that the game has been started.

* If a player misses the reflection time then the game will be automatically awarded by the chess.com server to their opponent. Note that the current IECC arbiters will not be involved in the resolution of the game and there will not be a second chance in the game.

* At the end of the game the game will be rated on the chess.com website (which is separate to your IECC rating). To ensure that the game is rated on the IECC website the PGN headers will need to be be added to the game report and the game result reported back to the IECC event directors using the current game completion form for the IECC event.

Note: your chess.com rating will be different to your IECC rating.

* Also since the game is played on the chess.com website all vacations will need to be made via the chess.com website as well as on the IECC website.

If you have any queries regarding this process, please contact the
Directors at iecc-directors@yahoogroups.com

We hope you enjoy this new playing option!

* THE PYRAMID EVENT *
http://www.chess-iecc.com/pyramid.html

The PYRAMID Tournament Directors are:
Senior TD: Mike Crowley
TD: Mary Anne Lynskey

----------------------------

Join the Pyramid ladder and see how high you can get by challenging a player further up. Newcomers to the Pyramid start at the bottom position.
Don't forget though, once you move up you may also be challenged yourself.

Here's some recent activity on the Pyramid ladder:
Totally unheard of on the Pyramid Ladder! The top six players are all defending their positions! Are there going to be many changes at the top?
We'll have to wait and see.

Many other challenges were recently issued and the games are well underway.

More new Pyramid members have joined the and all have challenged
members above them in an effort to move up the ladder.

Why not do like them, come and join the ladder now and challenge someone further up, it's perfectly free. If you aren't sure who to challenge, let us know and we'll organize it for you.

The ladder has been updated so go and see who's ready for a challenge,
here's the web address: http://www.chess-iecc.com/pyrstd.txt

To request a challenge:
Go to the Website < "http://www.chess-iecc.com/" >, choose "Pyramid"
from the listing on the left and go to the bottom of the page for the
rules.

Please pay particular attention to Rule 2.8 and Rule 3.

To get more information on Pyramid event, to see the current pyramid
listing or to request a match fill in the appropriate form on the
Pyramid Events page at http://www.chess-iecc.com/pyramid.html.

Hope to see you in the ladder soon…

THEMATICS WAITING LIST

The Thematics TD :
Senior TD Hans Winsemius

last update: April 14, 2016

This is a great way to explore specific openings.
You play either a two-game match, one as black and one as white, or a one-game match where you decide the color you would like to play.
A list of players waiting for opponents appears below, along with popular variations with no players.
You may also specify a variation that does not appear on the list.

You also may ask to be available for more than one match.
You may specify a minimum or maximum rating for your opponent.
Otherwise, we'll assign an opponent within 400 points of your rating at the time that the match is set up.
To sign up for IECC Thematics, visit our website http://www.chess-iecc.com and push the Thematicis button.

SPECIAL NOTICE:
In order to leave room on our waiting list for new variations and to limit the
accumulation of very specialized requests, we are having to establish limits.
(a) Requests older than a year will be deleted. You can get your name back on the list by making another request.
(b) Unusual variations will be deleted after three months at the discretion of the Tournament Directors. We will strive to retain variations that might be of general interest.
(c) New variations will ONLY be accepted if the requestor will play a two-game match with no special rating request.
(d) New variations will be limited to 7 move pairs.
We appreciate your understanding.
